breakfasts on trains

smell coffee scented coughs
which float like sticky caffeinated bubbles
and
breathe in stale teeth, smouldering mouthwash.

hear the empty tummies collect
and growl when the papers rustle:
reminders of yesterday's bacon's
sputter and bustle.

and bite into human sandwiches;
they make them good.
ladies in sausage-beige suits substitute food.

this meal is complete in
all senses
of the word
and it's cheap
only $1.20 per piece/per ride/per eat.

therefore folks try it someday
and till then,
bon appetit!

---

un moment à se rappeler
. a moment to remember.

"What's in a name?
That which we call
a rose
By any other word
would smell as sweet."

-Romeo and Juliet
