yesterday, instead of studying bio, i wrote verse. (sze, maybe that's why you can't remember simple things like the properties of tocopherol :/)

a frangipani tree

lies at the bottom of our shared garden,
it smiles at the passing children
showering petals
pink and white over their heads

the womenfolk,
they love its fragrance;
an alluring mist in summer's
humidity

its branches provide
much shelter from the sun and
rain
for the poor and tired

and i love it too
for reasons unknown
even to myself
maybe it is just pretty-

this fascination with it,
that frangipani tree i can see
from my veranda each day
and each night, is quite disturbing.

but
i'll never go down to it
to touch its trunk or
revel beneath its flowery scent

for it will stay down there
with the world and its going-ons
and i will stay up in my veranda
to watch it bloom.

un moment à se rappeler
. a moment to remember.

"What's in a name?
That which we call
a rose
By any other word
would smell as sweet."

-Romeo and Juliet
