returning to smss yesterday
was a revelation in itself.

i realised i have moved on.

the sense of pride, belonging to the school and (weird) motherly, caring and sometimes exasperated feeling towards the juniors is still there.

but there is also a underlying current of detachment, we have all moved on...

talking to ally was somewhat therapeutic, we came to a conclusion that true friends are hard to find. take for example, my classmates both current and past ones, there are only a meager few that i keep in contact with even after leaving school. that's not because we can't be bothered to keep in contact or what not, but because it's everyday school life that binds us together so without that, there's almost nothing we share in common. those that we actually do keep in contact with, share their new lives with us, but why are we willing to listen to them then? because we somehow have this connection with them, may it be past experiences, personality or shared interests...

for me, shared interests are perhaps the easiest way to bond. with choir & dance, it and the people involved in it, enrich my life. this is probably due to the fact of thinking on the same wavelength, especially since both come under the category of performing arts. :)

yet some of my closest friends are true blue sportswomen.. i guess it's the contrasting quirks and knacks in personality and behaviour that make us so endearing to each other. at this point, i must digress to say that doesn't this sound like the lock and key hypothesis we learn in biology for enzyme-substrate specificity? :P

getting back to the topic, it is hard to find true friends. :(

but then again if true friends were that easy to find, that would completely devalue and undermine the concept of having a true friend...

so at the very least,

thank you for the comfortable feeling i get around choir and dance people :)
thank you for all my friends!

un moment à se rappeler
. a moment to remember.

That which we call
a rose
By any other word
would smell as sweet."
